Getting Started with Google Play Testing

Follow these steps to install and test DualWeather on your Android device via Google Play closed testing.

1

Check Your Google Account

Make sure you are signed into Google Play with the same email address you used to sign up for the DualWeather beta. The testing invitation is tied to that specific Google account.

2

Opt In to Closed Testing

Your invitation email includes opt-in links for Google Play. You must opt in before you can install the app. Use the link that matches your situation:

  • From your Android device — use the Google Play link to opt in and install directly
  • From a computer — use the web link to opt in, then install from Play Store on your device

Both links are included in the invitation email you received. After opting in, it may take a few minutes for the app to become available.

3

Install DualWeather

Once you have opted in, visit the DualWeather listing on Google Play and tap Install. The app will appear on your device just like any other app.

DualWeather is available for phones, tablets, Wear OS watches, Android TV, and ChromeOS. If you have a Wear OS watch, the watch app will install automatically or can be installed directly from Play Store on the watch.

4

Grant Permissions

On first launch, DualWeather will ask for a couple of permissions:

  • Location — required to show weather for where you are
  • Notifications — optional, for daily summaries and weather alerts
  • Background location — optional, keeps widgets and notifications accurate when you move
5

Providing Feedback

Found a bug or have a suggestion? You can leave feedback directly through Google Play, or use the contact form on our website. Your feedback helps shape the app before its public release.
